The people below all want to find something. Read the descriptions of eight options. Decide which option would be the most suitable for each person. For questions 1-5, choose the correct letter (A-H).

bookshops or libraries

Old Town Reading Café

This relaxed place has sofas, magazines and a great coffee counter. It is right in the town centre and stays open until 9 pm every day. However, it is often busy and people talk a lot, so it isn’t ideal for silent reading, and books cannot be borrowed.

Match each person to the best option (A-H)
1Dorota

Dorota wants a quiet place to read and borrow novels after work. She can only go on weekday evenings and prefers somewhere near the town centre because she uses the bus. She also likes places with a small café.

2Hugo

Hugo is looking for a cheap second-hand bookshop where he can buy history books. He is free at weekends and wants somewhere with easy parking because he drives. He doesn’t want to travel far outside the centre.

3Nour

Nour needs a library where she can study for exams in a silent room. She needs a place that stays open late, especially on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Free membership is important. She also needs computers or Wi-Fi for research.

4Pavel

Pavel wants a family-friendly library for Saturday mornings. He is looking for children’s books and a story time for his six-year-old. It should be near the centre so they can walk, and it must have toilets and space for a buggy.

5Elena

Elena is searching for a bookshop that sells English learning books and simple novels. She is a beginner and would like helpful staff. She can go on weekday afternoons and is willing to pay more for new books in good condition.
